Dry chemical powder fire suppression systems are utilised where either liquid or gaseous suppressions systems would not be suitable due to the environment being protected. These systems operate using a sodium or potassium bicarbonate based chemical.

Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems

At Thameside Fire Protection our condensed aerosol systems suppress fire through the use of an ultra-fine potassium-based spray. Upon activation and discharge the fine potassium-based aerosol spray flows like a gas and interacts with the free radicals of the flames inhibiting the chemical chain reaction of the fire. As the aerosol particles are ultra-fine this means that there is more surface area between the extinguishing agent and the fire providing a rapid method of suppression.
